Random Shot Of The Day: Tach
Honda Civic + Nokia E72 + Boredom = This
I was going through the files from the last model shoot today, when I found this. A B&W conversion and a bit of split toning later, I ended up with something decent, considering I overlooked this picture on the first editing pass.
I took this on the way home from Port-of-Spain a couple days ago with my second, kinda crappy phone. I had actually managed to kill the battery in the E72. It reminded me of this shot, so I processed it the same way. Maybe I’ll start a series.
Yesterday was our second planned free shoot. We went up to Chaguaramas with a couple people I’ve worked with before, Aaron and Nicholas, and one new face, Adele. Sadly, Riche couldn’t make it.
The day involved a lot of rolling around on the ground, a broken flash and umbrella, and a wannabe police officer with a green siren trying to stop us from shooting in the old cathedral.
We had a shoot this evening with a couple, Navisha & Veer, who’re getting married next Sunday. Besides just getting some cool portrait shots, this pre-wedding shoot lets us get comfortable with each other. These two seem to be naturals, having fun and coming up with their own crazy poses. Should be a fun wedding.
Click the picture above to see the rest of my shots. There aren’t that many, and that’s because Riche will mainly be doing the photography for this wedding. I’ll be running video. HDSLR video. So stay tuned for that.
I was driving home from work yesterday evening when Riche called me and said, “let’s go to Mt. Hope later.” So, I ask “Whyyyy?” Apparently the pharmacy students were having their annual fashion show last night.
So Riche, Brandon, and I show up; someone sees our big lenses, assumes we’re “the photographers”, and ushers us to the front row. It turned out that it wasn’t the best spot to shoot from, so we moved around, trying to catch the fast moving models.
Overall though, I think we all got some decent shots. Click on the photo below for the results. You can also head to Riche’s Blog for links to his shots.
I took some pictures on a visit to Toco a couple weeks back. This was taken somewhere behind the lighthouse.
I bought a new phone. A Nokia E72 to be exact. I finally have a phone that functions properly and can go more than a day without charging. Goodbye Blackberry! Anyway, here’s a pic:
This was actually the first time I used my 18-55mm kit lens since I got my 24-105 L. I needed the shorter focal length of the 18-55 to get up close to the phone.
Riche and I took a drive to San Fernando this evening, mostly to pay for my car insurance and check out the San Fernando Hill as a location for shoots. But it was so hot, we had to stop for ice cream!
I have the same phone, just love it. Best phone i ever have so far
